National law firm Hill Dickinson joined forces with prestige jewellers Boodles to sponsor the Light for Love Carol Concert in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice at Chester Cathedral this week.
The evening began at Boodles' Chester showroom on Eastgate Street where guests gathered together to enjoy a glass of champagne and to view the latest jewellery collections.
Television actor, Michael J Jackson, who has appeared in Emmerdale, Casualty and Brookside, then hosted the carol concert at Chester Cathedral which featured the Roberts Bakery Brass Band and the Grange School Choir. Readings were also given by Jody Wainwright of Boodles, Philippa Lewis, a Solicitor of Hill Dickinson’s Chester office and two of the parents who have used the services provided by Claire House.
Robin Jones, Head of Hill Dickinson’s Chester office, said: “Claire House is a bright and vibrant place of hope for families finding themselves in the most tragic and difficult circumstances and we are proud and privileged to be sponsoring the evening with our client Boodles and showing this wonderful charity our total support.”
Abi Smith, Cheshire Area Manager from Claire House said: “The cathedral provided a wonderful backdrop for what was the start of the Christmas season. Everyone at the concert thoroughly enjoyed the music and the sentiments from the readings. The parents from Claire House who joined us at the event were heartened to see the support for them in this community and feel it truly reflects what Christmas is all about. All money raised from the concert will go to the fund to try and get the ninth bed open in 2012 so we can extend the service we offer to more families in Cheshire.”
Loraine Siggins, Manager at Boodles, Chester said: “We were very happy to support this very important local cause and, along with Hill Dickinson, to have been involved with such a successful event.”
