E-Certificate

E-Cert is a service provided by the British Chambers of Commerce which enables UK exporters to apply for Certificates of Origin on line.

E-Cert incorporates regulations and statutory requirements of the UK governing bodies for each of the certificates produced, ensuring that the documents are certified as quickly as possible and do not cause any hold up in the movement of goods.

The service promises to significantly reduce hours, even days off the process of applying for export documentation, which is mandatory for all exporting companies. A key benefit of this service will allow applicants to use a secure on-line database to enable information and certificates to be stored and modified for future use. There is also a facility for an export invoice to be produced to accompany the electronic certificate of origin application without additional work.

Put simply you will apply for a certificate of origin on-line by accessing a dedicated Chamber Website. By following the instructions using a password and username facility you will complete the form and then send it electronically to the Chamber. We will then check the certificate and invoice and assuming they have been correctly completed we shall then add an electronic signature. The certificate will then be returned to you the same day. In short we are offering customers faster response times and improved customer service standards.
